Many thanks to Klaus Darilion for letting me know about this fantastic blog:
VoIP and ENUM - Richard's Blog for VoIP and ENUM related stuff.
Here's a bit about what Klaus is up to in the world of SIP...
enum.at - ENUM-Registry +43
Since 9 December 2004 enum.at has been operating the registry and the DNS server for the commercial use of ENUM in Austria (3.4.e164.arpa). As one of the main applications for ENUM is the mapping from E.164 phone numbers to SIP URIs, enum.at also provides SIP development tools and applications like the ENUM Softphone and the SIPTAPI. Further enum.at contributes to SIP related IETF working groups. www.enum.at
2. My personal home page with bookmarks to lots of SIP and RTP applications and stacks, mostly open source. Very interesting for developers. The link collection of Klaus Darilion provides a comprehensive list of VoIP related software. This website is an ideal starting point for SIP developers to get an overview of existing open source SIP and RTP stacks as well as complete SIP softphones. www.pernau.at/kd/voip
Also in the blogosphere recently...
SIP – What Is It Good For?
One of the major themes out of this year’s Spring VoiceCon was the SIP-age had finally arrived. But what exactly does that mean?

Voicemail spam... Call eavesdropping... Call impersonation... regulatory compliance... The list goes on. BorderWare’s SIPassure SIP Firewall mitigates application layer threats and enables secure IP telephony. Concerned about interoperability? Don’t be. SIPassure works with the most popular SIP based applications on the market today such as Cisco Call Manager and Microsoft Live Meeting. Visit our web site to learn more!
Mixed Media Interactive Communication
A Mini Tutorial by SIPKnowledge
Motivation:
Dave and George are best friends. They hang out together a lot. Sadly one day Dave has to move to a different city. Seemingly they can still chat over the phone. However Dave is mute and George is deaf... Is their friendship doomed now?
Feature:
A SIP client (either a soft phone or real phone), might be capable of supporting mixed media streams. The user of such a device can instruct it (either in general of for a particular call) to use for example text for outgoing communication and audio for incoming (and vice versa) one.
How this can be accomplished: This diagram illustrates how this can be accomplished.

This report (Edition 2.0) is the second in a series of reports on the subject. The IMS reports are designed to build a comprehensive reference guide to the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and new generation network capabilities and offerings. Their goal is to provide operators with detailed information on all aspects of IMS and NG networks.

SIP Security and the IMS Core
Much has been written about the security of SIP based networks and security of Voice over IP in general, but ultimately good security is a complete architecture, not a single product or protocol. The advent of Fixed/Mobile Convergence and IMS has created some widely accepted standards and has equally highlighted architectural differences in the converging networks. Whilst the overall objective of providing a flexible, secure network and secure services is common, the implementation details differ from network to network.
