| SIPit 20 (SIP Interoperability Test Event) |
Date: April 16-20, 2007 Location: Flanders Congress and Concert Centre in Antwerp, Belgium Host: Alcatel Lucent
The SIPit (SIP Interoperability Test Event) is the premier international test event for real-time IP communication using the Session Initiation Protocol. Twice a year, around one hundred companies engage at the SIPit for a week of testing to refine both the specification and implementation of the world's next communication infrastructure.
The purpose of the SIPit event - SIP interoperability test event - is to test for interoperability of SIP implementations, to determine the source of incompatibilities and if necessary to prepare a revision of the specification.
This event is open only to implementers with working SIP implementations. It is not a trade show, public demonstration, conference or workshop.

Presence is one of the exciting applications of SIP - it allows you to locate a user and determine their availability to communicate via phone, e-mail/text or video. Both people and applications can use presence information, providing the opportunity to integrate communications into business processes.
