The SIP Center is a portal for both educating users and the commercial development of the Session Initiation Protocol. Serving the SIP developer community as well as the wider industry since July of 2000, The SIP Center offers comprehensive technical and market resources to those interested in everything SIP!

To date, the industry's focus has been on the technical development of the protocol, the 'ironing out' of all the little wrinkles that are bound to affect a new technology. However, after sixteen interoperability 'SiPit' tests it has become apparent that a significant number of companies already offer robust SIP products and that mature SIP architectures have emerged. SIP has been torture tested in the labs and in trials is now in commercial deployment.

Inevitably, until now, the commercial and marketing issues associated with SIP have been of a lower priority than the technical developments. This web site differs from other SIP sites in that we aim to bring SIP to a wider IP Communications audience and to help bring real-world services to the market. We want to educate and promote SIP as well as accelerate service deployment. The intended audience for this site is service providers, technology vendors and the merely curious.

The SIP Center site isn't just about what we can offer; we welcome any input from external sources, whether as a sponsor or just as a contributor to the forum. Companies and organizations are also invited to submit whitepapers, press releases, and news items to be published on the site. This web site reflects the SIP industry as a whole and is fast changing; if you have any interest in SIP and IP Communications then you will need to be a regular visitor.
