RADVISION Previews Multipoint Conferencing for SIP-Based Windows XP

ANAHEIM, Calif. and NEW YORK, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- RADVISION (Nasdaq: RVSN - news), the source of award winning, industry-standard products and technology for real-time voice and video communication over IP (V2oIP(TM)), today announced the demonstration of a multipoint videoconferencing solution for Microsoft Windows XP at the TeleCon Conference & Expo in Anaheim, California (October 23-25, booth #109) and at the Windows XP launch event in New York City (October 24-25). The RADVISION solution, is the first to provide multipoint conferencing capabilities for three or more Windows Messenger endpoints participating in a single videoconference.

Windows Messenger, which is included in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, is an integrated center for all communications, with breakthrough support for real-time voice and video conferencing, instant messaging, and online collaboration. Windows Messenger offers users one seamless, integrated way to participate in point-to-point voice and video communication and data collaboration.

RADVISION's viaIP product family, designed for deploying IP-centric voice, video and data conferencing, integrates multimedia gateway, multipoint conferencing, data collaboration, and gatekeeper intelligence into a single platform for IP networks. The viaIP solution supports videoconferencing for multiple protocols including H.323 and H.320 (both International Telecommunications Union standards) and in this demonstration, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), (an Internet Engineering Task Force standard).
